As we continue to hear about the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19, we would like to take the opportunity to share an update regarding infection prevention, as well as the measures that we have taken at Circle of Care to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Remember that the best defence against the spread of virus is to practice proper hand hygiene. Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is the best defense against spreading illnesses. We highly recommend you wash your hands before, after and during client visits, and remember to wear gloves when necessary. If soap and water are not readily available, please use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Notify Lisa Rae (416-635-2860 ext 284) immediately if:

  • If your client has recently travelled or they are experiencing a new cough or a new fever.
  • If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms such as: fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.

If you haven’t already received a flu shot, we encourage you to do so at your nearest pharmacy or public health unit.

What is Circle of Care doing to monitor the situation with COVID-19?

Circle of Care takes the health and safety of our clients, volunteers, and employees extremely seriously.

Our core Emergency Preparedness team meets regularly to monitor the information that is sent daily from the Ministry of Health and Public Health Ontario.

We are also working closely with our partners including Sinai Health, North York Toronto Health Partners, North Toronto Health Team, Home Care Ontario, LHINs and Ontario Community Support Association to ensure that we are implementing similar practices within our organizations around the management of supplies and human resources.
