September 28 was Cyril Braude’s last day of volunteering with our Kosher Meals on Wheels program, as he now takes on the challenging adventure of a full-time job. He shared the following message with his fellow KMOW volunteers:

It has been an absolute pleasure and delight to be associated with this program run under the auspices of Circle of Care. I have volunteered here for the pleasure of being able to assist those less fortunate than me – those physically and mentally unable to help themselves.

Shortly after I started volunteering, Inna announced that they would be looking for volunteers to pick up meals from Sepha in the north of the city. Despite knowing that this would be more convenient for me, she told me “You’re not allowed to volunteer up there unless they’re short of drivers.” I am so pleased to have been able to travel south to be with all of you.

I have met some really fantastic people. People who share my passion for volunteering. People who, no matter what, are friendly to a fault, always offering a kind word of encouragement. The camaraderie at Baycrest Kosher Meals on Wheels is absolutely great and long may it continue!

The smiling faces of my regulars will remain with me for a long time. Some of them even notice when I miss a day or two. Thank you for giving me this opportunity and these memories.

I encourage everyone to volunteer at least once a week because of the pleasure one gets from helping those less fortunate. I will miss you all.
